Omar Sani, a popular star actor of the Bangladeshi film industry. He has a close relationship with BFDC (Bangladesh Film Development Corporation). A tree in the BFDC's mosque premises was uprooted by Cyclone Sitrang. He took that tree for his restaurant furniture and provided a Hadiya (gift) for it.
Actor Simon wanted to know from Omar Sani, what he would do with the tree. In response Omar Sani said, "Many of our memories are spread in different parts of BFDC. I have seen these trees since they were small. When I came here last Friday to pray, I was very sad to see the tree lying like this. Then it suddenly came to my mind, I am going to start a new branch of 'Chapwala', I need wood to make a the sitting structure and table there. Perfect timing. I was not at all happy that the tree had fallen. But it feels good to be able to give Hadiya for it."
Recently, Omar Sani starrer movie 'Basonto Bikel' was released in theatres. The film is directed by Rafiq Shikder. It also stars Shipan Mitra, Shah Humaira Subah, Tanvir Tonu, Suchorita, Aman Reza and others.
