Muntasir Tushar, a talented young music director, is making waves with his latest work, 'Ganer Michil.' To celebrate 52 years of independence, Tushar has brought together 46 musicians, both young and old, to lend their voices to 52 original songs from Akshar Records. The lyrics for these songs were written by a variety of talented individuals, including Enamul Haque, Rajeeb Hasan, and Ghalib Sardar, to name a few.
Tushar spoke about the project, saying, "I created this song project with the expectation that an artist should be able to live with their own songs. After a long wait, I am excited to present 'Ganer Michil,' consisting of 52 original songs under the title Akshar Original. I hope these songs will touch the hearts of listeners."
The songs feature a diverse range of vocal talent, including Avanti Sinthi, Abida Zakir, and Iftekharul Islam. Tushar was supported in the music arrangement by Zeeshan Ahmed, Salman Zaim, and Nirjhar, among others.
The videos for these songs were produced separately by Manas Mehdi and Hasnat Qadir of Art Hub. The songs will be released one by one on Akshar Records' YouTube channel and Facebook page, starting from the time of Eid. This project is unprecedented, with no composer ever having released 52 original Bengali songs in a single season before.
Tushar, an independent composer, music director, and singer, comes from a family tradition of music practice spanning about 150 years. He has previously earned acclaim for his music direction on Srikanth Acharya's "Bristhi Nemeche" and Priyanka Gop's "Mayamoy," winning awards for both at the Global Music Awards-2018 in Dubai. He has also received the "Gauriprasanna Majumdar Award" from Calcutta as an emerging music director.
