Prominent Bangladeshi musician Ruma Nath has recently released her latest solo album, 'Praner Tare.' The album, featuring the soul-stirring songs of Rabindranath Tagore, has been unveiled by India's esteemed Hindustan Records. The melodic compilation includes five Tagore songs, delicately woven around themes of love and devotion. The recently launched 'Praner Tare' is now available to listeners on Hindustan Record's YouTube channel and on other platforms like Gaana and Spotify.
Nath, currently residing in the Thakurpara area of Cumilla city with her husband and two children, is a well-known figure in the music industry. Regularly presenting music on Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television, she continues to engage and enthrall her audience with her melodious renditions. Born in Maijdee city of Noakhali, she has now established her home in Cumilla after her marriage. Her husband, Ranjan Kumar Bhowmik, is a college teacher, further enriching the city's academic community.
The production of the album 'Praner Tare' was a collaborative effort with Kolkata's renowned music director Durba Dal Chatterjee. Working alongside Anirban Sen for the recording, the team has crafted a masterpiece that admirably showcases the richness and depth of Tagore's music. This collaboration further underlines the cultural harmony and shared love for music that transcends national borders.
Speaking about the album, Ruma Nath expressed her commitment to maintaining the integrity of Tagore's original compositions. "I have tried to sing these songs with utmost care," she commented, underlining her dedication to her art. However, she remains humble about her success, saying, "I am not sure how well I have succeeded." Despite any uncertainty, she remains hopeful that her listeners will appreciate her efforts and enjoy the songs in the album.
Beyond this album, Ruma Nath foresees more opportunities for her musical journey. With her anticipation of releasing more songs through Hindustan Records and other music companies, she hints at a promising future for her listeners. Her professional background, including her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Rabindra Sangeet from Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata, complements her current role as the director of Antara Music School in Cumilla.
