Acclaimed vocalist Shailu Shah has introduced a new musical piece, in honor of the dual occasion - the first anniversary of the Padma Bridge and the celebratory event of Eid-ul-Adha. The melody, christened 'Padmar Goyna' (Song of Padma), is the fruit of the imagination of Nithor Mahbub, a well-established actor and mime artist. Tofi Renar masterfully designed the composition's arrangement. The tune made its entry into the public domain on Eid, through the YouTube channel, Music Door (Song of the Universe).
The lyrics of the song beautifully portray the majesty of the Padma River and the unification brought about by the construction of the bridge. It eloquently expresses, "In the turbulent Padma, the ever-flowing river/ I see the bridge that has united hearts/ Both sides of the river are now one, happiness is flowing in the land/ The world marvels and praises Bangladesh, oh River Padma...".
The music video of the song also deserves a special mention. It was directed by Nithor Mahbub, and showcases the talents of Shailu Shah and Faisal Mahmud as its models. The visual representation enhances the lyrical and musical experience, adding another dimension to the artistic endeavor.
In an expression of his emotions about the song, Shailu Shah revealed, "Upon observing the joy and enthusiasm that enveloped the nation on the inauguration of the Padma Bridge on June 25, 2022, Nithor poured out his feelings on Facebook. His touching words deeply moved me, leading me to suggest that we transform his feelings into a song. Nithor agreed, and together we breathed life into the song. Although it was recorded then, the release was postponed due to time constraints and adverse conditions."
He further added, "We decided to time the release with the anniversary of the Padma Bridge and Eid. I did my best to capture the essence of the lyrics and the melody in my singing. My sincere hope is that the song will strike a chord with the listeners."
Nithor Mahbub also shared his perspective, saying, "This is a milestone for me, marking the first time a musician has performed a song that I have written and composed. In the past, I released two of my own songs with Shailu Shah's collaboration. This time, I created a song specifically for him. Shailu Shah has brought the song to life with his heartfelt rendition."
