Beloved Novel 'Padma Nodir Majhi' Inspires New Television Film 'Kuber Majhi', Starring Manoshi Prokrity

Manik Bandopadhyay was a cherished novelist in Bangladesh, whose works have consistently captivated readers over the years. Particularly, his timeless novel 'Padma Nodir Majhi' made a significant impact and even transitioned into the realm of cinema in the country. Directed by Goutam Ghosh, the film adaptation of 'Padma Nodir Majhi' was well-received by audiences. One of the most popular characters from this novel is 'Kopila'.

In the film adaptation, the character of Kopila was brilliantly portrayed by Rupa Gangopadhyay from Kolkata, garnering wide acclaim. Her portrayal added depth and complexity to the character, leaving a lasting impression on the viewers.

Inspired by the novel 'Padma Nodir Majhi', young producer Tarik Muhammad Hasan is now creating a television film titled 'Kuber Majhi'. The popular contemporary actress, Manoshi Prokrity, has been cast in the role of Kopila for this adaptation. This marks a notable transition for Manoshi Prokrity, as she expands her repertoire from her already successful cinema career.

Already, the filming for the television film has started at various locations in Bhola, with the initial three days of shooting successfully completed. Speaking on her role, Manoshi Prokrity shared, "I thoroughly enjoyed working on this popular character." The actress' enthusiasm for her role is palpable, hinting at a memorable performance.

'Kuber Majhi' aims to portray the joys and sorrows of a boatman's life by the Padma River. Notably, the film also features actor Shipon Mitra as the boatman, and actresses Anjol and Sanjita Datta in the roles of Mala and Lolita respectively. Other cast members include Tutul Chowdhury and Kaka Masud, among others. The producer announced that the television film would be aired on Boishakhi TV during the Eid holidays. In addition to 'Kuber Majhi', Manoshi Prokrity is also working on another film titled 'Thokar', directed by Mazhar Babu. Having started her film career through Jasmin Akhtar Nadi's 'Jal Shaola', she recently starred in a movie called 'Shesh Kotha', solidifying her status as a noteworthy actress in the film industry.
