Lalon Festival in New York For The First Time

On October 30, at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center, the festival will be inaugurated with the slogan 'When will a human society be created, on which Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, castes, tribes will not exist' - Lalan Utsav. This festival is being held for the first time in New York, USA. Farida Parveen, the legendary singer of folk music and Lalon song, will inaugurate. Flute player Gazi Abdul Hakim will be present as a special guest of the program.

On the 132nd Tirodhan Day of Lalon Fakir, on October 17, the life member of Lalon Academy and convenor of Lalon Parishad, Kushtia, Md. Abdul Hamid announced the festival in a press conference at a restaurant in Jackson Heights, New York.

The organizers said that the goal of the festival is to spread the philosophy and thoughts of Lalon Fakir, a follower of humanism and a spiritual personality, to establish peace in the present world. Lalon will be presented in different guises through song, dance, seminar, symposium, theater show, painting, documentary and film exhibition.

Among the guests will be Ekushe Medal winner musician Rathindranath Roy and scientist Dr. Nurun Nabi, Dr. Zia Uddin, musician Tajul Imam, journalist Hasan Ferdous, Dr. Sarwarul Hasan Chowdhury, Democratic Party District Leader at Large Attorney Moin Chowdhury, Community Board Member Democrat Leader Mohammad N. Majumdar, Dancer Annie Ferdous, Lion Club President Ahsan Habib, Shah J. Chowdhury, drama personality Gargi Mukherjee, Golam Sarwar Harun and filmmaker Suman Mukhopadhyay.
