Kolkata Viewers To See 'Hawa' And 'Poran'

Kolkata's festival calendar has been hosting the Bangladesh Film Festival for three years. 'Fourth Bangladesh Film Festival' will be held at Rabindra Sadan in Kolkata from October 29 to November 2. Bangladesh's Honourable Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Hashan Mahmud, will be present as the chief guest in the opening ceremony. Along with him, Babul Supriyo, Acting Minister of Tourism Department of West Bengal Government, will also be present at the event as a guest of honour.

This time Kolkata audience will see the Dhaka blockbuster movies like Hawa and Poran. 'Bangladesh Film Festival' is starting in Kolkata on October 29. 37 films from Bangladesh will be shown in the festival. The films Hawa and Poran are at the top of the list.

This festival is being held for the fourth time at Rabindra Sadan in Kolkata under the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of Bangladesh and under the management of the Bangladesh Sub-High Commission in Kolkata.

A press conference was organized at Kolkata Press Club on Wednesday. It was informed that Bangladesh Information and Broadcasting Minister will be the chief guest at the opening ceremony. Babul Supriyo, Acting Minister of Information Technology and Tourism Department of West Bengal Government will be the guest. Renowned film director Gautam Ghosh will be the special guest.

Apart from this, Jaya Ahsan, Chanchal Chowdhury, Musharraf Karim and the film artists participating in the festival will be present.

Last year Nandan-1 hosted the five-day Bangladesh Film Festival, which featured 32 popular films from Bangladesh. This festival has been held for four consecutive years. This year the list of films includes 'Haseena: A Daughter's Tale', 'Hawa', 'Poran', 'Hridita', 'Gunin', 'Beauty Circus', 'Paer Tolai Mati Nai', 'Paap Punya', 'Kalbela', 'Chandraboti Kotha', 'Chiranjeeb Mujib', 'Rehana Maryam Noor', 'Nona Joler Kabya', 'Raat Jaga Phool', 'Red Moroger Jhuti', 'Golui', 'Gondi' and 'Bishwasundari'.
