On Friday, October 21, the movie 'Rohingya', written and directed by Syed Ohiduzzaman Diamond, was released in movie theatres (cinema halls).
The movie was stuck for a long time due to the pandemic. Rohingya received uncut sensor about a year ago. The film portrays a stateless ethnic group who sought refuge in neighboring countries after suffering torture, repression, murder, rape, etc. in Myanmar's Rakhine State. Arshi Hossain played the central female role.
After a long time, the film 'Rohingya' by the National Film Award-winning director saw the light of release. This film is about the torture and killings of Rohingya in Rakhine, Myanmar. Omar Ayaz Ani, Suchi, Sagar, Brishti, Tanjid, Hayatuzzaman, Golam Rabbani and many others acted in the movie.
Arshi Hossain said about the film, the shooting took place in the forests of Ukhia Rohingya camp, Naf river, Teknaf and Gazipur. When I was shooting for the movie in the Rohingya camp, someone came to give me relief thinking I was a Rohingya and in fact gave me relief. That's when I felt that I was able to become the character 'Aasia' of the film. After seeing the movie, the viewers will understand how much we have suffered. Moreover, the story of the film is quite different.
