On Friday, the Dhaka Art Summit (DAS), Bangladesh's largest exhibition venue for art and architecture, will open (February 3). The sixth iteration of this event will have a Bengali theme for the first time, titled "Bonna (flood)". The festival will include more than 160 musicians from both domestic and foreign countries. This year's event, which will take place from February 3 to 11, will emphasise talks on various generations, gender relations, and climate change.
On February 1st, a press conference was held at Shilpakala Academy's Jatiya Chitrashala Auditorium to commemorate this year's Art Summit. The media was briefed on the events of the art summit by Nadia Samdani MBE and Mr. Rajeeb Samdani of the Samdani Art Foundation.

In riverine Bangladesh, 'Bonna (flood)' is more than just a word for calamity; so, young girls are named 'Bonna' (flood). This time, "Bonna' (flood)" will be presented in a different way at the Dhaka Art Summit: with questions that challenge standard binary thinking about necessity and non-necessity, catastrophe recovery and rebuilding, children and adults, women and men, and so on. The shows of the participating artists will illustrate the full significance of this link. The Samdani Art Award show will also include the works of 12 Bangladeshi artists whose works will address social, economic, and environmental issues. Salman F.
